Project Manager
Studio Oker is a design agency specializing in strategic branding, visual identity, and digital experiences. From our studio in Stavanger, we collaborate with companies both nationally and internationally. As our projects continue to grow in scope and complexity, we are now looking for an additional project manager. Together with our current project manager, you will form a strong partnership. We are looking for someone who brings positive energy to the team, creates smooth workflows in our daily operations, and ensures confident, solid project delivery.
About us
Since 2018, we have grown into a team of 11. We are a professional community that values collaboration, thoroughness, dedication, aesthetics, and excellent craftsmanship. We work with a diverse portfolio of ambitious clients: from global tech companies and innovators in energy and climate, to cultural institutions. Our work spans from strategic consulting and visual identities to digital platforms and spatial design.
The role as Project Manager
We view project management as a craft in its own right. With us, you will be the vital link between the client and the creative team. Your task is to ensure that projects progress efficiently, budgets are met, and our designers have the optimal framework to do their best work. We are looking for someone who is comfortable setting clear expectations regarding timelines and finances early in the process, ensuring that projects land safely and predictably.
Key responsibilities
Project management: Responsible for resource planning, scheduling, and estimating from kickoff to delivery.
Financial responsibility: Budget control, drafting proposals, and managing scope changes along the way.
Client advisory: Act as a trusted advisor who can present Oker’s methodology convincingly, build trust with clients, and identify new opportunities throughout the project lifecycle.
Workflow: Free up capacity within the design team and facilitate clarity and focused work.
Production coordination: Follow up with printers, web developers, partners, and subcontractors, relieving the design team during the production phase.
Quality assurance: Ensure that deliverables adhere to Studio Oker’s routines and high standards.
Technology and studio development: Contribute to how we run the studio, for example by exploring how AI and new technology can ease administrative tasks, improve resource planning, and streamline internal workflows.
Qualifications
We are looking for a project manager with strengths in several of the following areas. You do not need to have done it all before, but you should recognize yourself in most of this list and be motivated to further develop both the role and the way we work.
Experience: You have experience leading complex projects. Agency experience is relevant, but we are equally open to candidates with backgrounds in tech, architecture, film or similar environments.
Clear communication: You know how to set professional boundaries and understand the value of saying no to the wrong premises, giving us the peace of mind to deliver on the right ones. You clarify expectations in a constructive and confidence-inspiring manner.
Navigating conflicting demands: You are empathetic yet firm, capable of navigating competing interests between the client and your own team in demanding situations.
Structured: You are methodical, proactive, and possess a solid financial understanding. You are able to maintain frameworks and structure, even when the creative process requires the path to unfold organically.
Professional interest: You understand the value of great design and have a genuine interest in strategic branding.
Language: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both Norwegian and English.
What we offer
With us, collaboration is the foundation of everything we create. We work closely together and believe that the best results emerge when uncompromising craftsmanship meets respect, empathy, and positive energy.
An informal and dedicated work environment with shared lunches and annual studio trips.
Bright and welcoming office spaces centrally located in Stavanger.
Competitive terms, as well as excellent pension and insurance schemes.
